Use Spotlight on your BootCamp XP partition
By javester

So you just installed BootCamp and you are in dual-booting heaven. You just wish you can search your XP partition with Spotlight.

Your wish is granted!!! Just be sure to install XP using FAT32 instead of the NTFS file system.

Eventually, when you boot back into OS X, Spotlight should automatically index the XP FAT32 partition.

If you want to force Spotlight to index it ASAP. Just go to terminal and issue the command:

Quote:
mdutil -E \
You'll notice that the SpotLight icon will now have a dot inside the magnifying glass as the index is rebuilt.
