Put your Mac to sleep using your Apple Remote
By javester

There you are lying comfortably in your bed, watching the latest episode of Lost via Front Row on your brand spanking new MacTel.

As the show winds down, you curl up under your blanket but the light from your Mac bothers you (apart from reminding you of the computer in the hatch). So you hesitatingly crawl out of bed and put your Mac to sleep.

Not anymore! Just press play on your Apple remote for 3 seconds, and your MacTel should promptly go to sleep after displaying a "snoring remote".

Press play again to wake up your MacTel.

Note that if you set your Security Preference to "Require password to wake this computer from sleep or screen saver", the snoring remote animation will be skipped.
