Which "Get A Mac" ad is your favorite? - 05-02-2006, 11:56 PM

Apple is on a roll and they're firing on all guns!!! The halo is on full-glare and the Apple's siren call is proving irresistable.

And with the introduction of the latest ad campaign, Apple is making no secret of its ambitions to convert the PC masses.

Which one is your favorite?

I loved them all but voted for restarting since I am currently a Windows user and I crash often or just have to restart due to extreme slowdown caused by no apparent reason... I don't think my PC has much life left to it... its been acting really weird lately... screen went blank earlier... restarted, same thing, restarted again and it was fine o.O anyway... I think its bed time x.x

I like network. Here is the Mac talking Japanese and the PeeCee is trying to talk French. That is one of the Mac's strongest points and always has been: the ability to plug and play.

Restarting makes me feel uncomfortable because it reminds me of people with disabilities. It may be just me you know. The smell of fireworks or gunpowder brings on memories of the Marine Corps. Whatever. I like the Network commercial best.

What made it for me was how awkward the PC guy was, with his "cool jams", nerdy dance steps, and utility belt.

As a self-confessed nerd (geek is chic!), I know it just reinforces the prototype, but oh, its sooo true!!!

Talking What about Boot Camp? - 05-04-2006, 03:56 PM

Why don't they feature Boot Camp in the ads?

If you say a Mac can do Windows too, wouldn't that make it an easier sell?

Besides, you're selling to the Windows masses anyway, right?!

I can see the ad now too....

Quote:
Imagine this - Mac guy runs into room of PC guy. Mac is crying and bawling his heart out... The PC guy is confused... "What's wrong Mac?"

The Mac guy replies - "I just found out!!! We have the same processor (father)! We were just separated at birth!!!" Bawling continues...

PC guy looks at screen and has a befuddled smile.

Fade to iMac booting Windows...

Announcer intones - "and Macs run Windows too!!!"
What do you think?!?

Exclamation Boot Camp me too!!! With games! - 05-04-2006, 04:11 PM

Marky34!

That's just precious!!!! Your BootCamp ad is just what the campaign is missing!!!

You did forget to add though that another holdout audience are gamers. What about doing a Part 2 to your Boot Camp ad that is also a sequel to the "Better" Ad.

What about this:

Quote:
PC guy runs into room and taps Mac on the shoulder.

"Mac, I do know something I'm better at."

Mac has his back turned to the screen and doesn't turn around to acknowledge PC.

Mac: "And what is that?"

PC: "Games. Can you do games?!?" (PC makes laser sound effects and shooting gestures, all excited since he thinks he topped Mac on this one)

Mac: "Uuuhhh... yep! In fact I do!"

Camera zooms over shoulder of Mac guy and focuses on Mac computer running a PC game.

Announcer intones: "And Macs run PC games too!"
Mac computer then shifts to segments running several hot PC games for a few seconds. Sound effects from PC games slowly fade.
Now that would be da bomb!!!!
