Printer not accessible from Guest VM (XP) - 08-22-2007, 05:47 AM

Hi,

I was pretty happy when I found this neat little tool - but unfortunately I cannot get it to work.

I am using a MacBook and Windows XP in a Paralles VM. On the Mac side, printer and windows sharing are activated in the Sharings tab and the printer itself is also shared.
On the windows side I installed Bonjour for Windows. Both OS and all relevant apps are up to date.

Here's what happens: I start the Bonjour Printer Wizard on the Windows VM. It recognizes the SupaPDF printer. I select it and go to the next window to pick the driver. Shortly after clicking anything a window pops up telling me that the printer is no longer available and I should check whether it is still connected to the network and turned on (haha).
Now, even if I click fast, pick PCL or PS driver and continue the installation, then first the same window pops up at the end PLUS a window telling me that I would not have the rights to install that printer. I sure do have administrator rights on my Windows VM though.

Any idea what the problem is? I should mention that I have a German Mac OS and a German Windows XP. Any help would be welcome, I have been looking for a solution like this for a longer time now...

Thanks and keep up the nice work,
jan
