Using the latest MyODBC drivers for MySQL it is important to set max_allowed_packet to a large value up to 1GB to ensure full length movies and hi-res images get into the database. Similar tweaks would have to be made for other databases also.

This build also includes a removal tool in case you have any difficulties, it is located in your Applications folder, just click on "PhotoUpLinkUnInstall" to remove the plugin, after you have closed iPhoto.
