An unverified anonymous source claims that Apple stores are receiving materials for a new window display that's labeled "do not open until Tuesday, May 9th." The source also claims that Apple has directed its stores to push iBook sales this weekend, presumably to clear out inventory.
Recent rumors have pointed to the Macbook being released in May, but no specific date had been given.
Update:
So at the time of this writing, if you were to visit http://www.apple.com/ipod/, you'd be greeted not with the iPod page, but the page shown above with the conspicuous MacBook hardware breadcrumb -- not MacBook Pro. Eh, these things happen, but compound that with the fact that MacRumors is reporting that stores are supposedly receiving new window displays marked "do not open until Tuesday, May 9th" means we could be perilously close to a new product launch -- care to guess which? We'll keep you posted.
Sounds very interesting, I hope it is released I have been wondering what the specs will be...
Additional sources have confirmed the MacBook's announcement this Tuesday. Further, sources report that the MacBook will be thinner than current iBooks, will be available in both black and white configurations, and will likely cost slightly more than previous iBook models—not unlike the price increase Apple's Mac mini saw with its transition to Intel processors. I can't wait until Tuesday! Even though I won't be getting one...
Color changing is too high tech I would think for right now, at least controlled color changing....
Anyway rumors speculate that it was pushed back due to E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) down in LA. Tons of stuff going on down there (PS3 copying Ninty, M$ announcing HDDVD for 360, Ninty showing off Wii, and... HALO 3 TRAILER!!!!)
