Hey, I just whipped up an idea for the forum layout! Tell me what you think and if you have any suggestions please feel free to share them!

Thanks JPT! I WILL definitely change the layout to cut down on the empty forums and I will certainly take your layout into account.

BTW, I'm thinking of setting up a Reviews section for MacTel accessories. The way vbulletin works, I'll have to setup a new forum with the "review type" setting.

So that's two more forums, setup as follows:

Reviews
  • Hardware
  • Software

Any thoughts?

I like the idea although you could put just a generic forum for reviews and specify which type of review it is in the title (Ex. "[Hardware] iMac 20 inch" I think there is a mod that will allow you to select certain headers like the "[Hardware]" part...

Apple
... Hardware
... Software

Boot Camp/WinDoze

Off Topic/MacTel Chat

Marketplace

Feedback and Support

My ideal is to see all/most topics without having to scroll the page. Reveiws should get it's own tab like tips, articles and gallery.

Folks, what about this layout?

Quote:
Apple
  • Hardware
  • Software
  • Pimp your MacTels
  • Games

Boot Camp/Windows

News & Opinion
  • News
  • Articles

MTC Labs
  • Tutorials
  • Tips 'n Tricks
  • Reviews

Off Topic

  • Feedback and Support
I created a new category "MTC Labs" to group the tips/tutorials and reviews. The thing with the Reviews module is that it cannot be a top-level category the way its written, that's why I have to put it under something.

But as Bernie suggested, it will get its own button on the navbar.

The layout should also show the major forums (the first four) without scrolling.

Your thoughts?

P.S.
Really appreciate ya'll taking an interest in evolving the site

Just FYI the indented bulletin (Ex. Feedback and Support) is sub forums, so it won't necessarily show up on the main page in a big way...

K guys,
I'll put in the new forum structure before the end of the week.

As soon as that's done, I'll then give you both moderator access.

K?

Keep on MacTelling!!!
