Installation

Download the zip and extract it to your hard drive. Start InputRemapper.exe. If you want the application to automatically start when Windows starts simply create a shortcut to the program and place it in the startup folder.

To enable the fn key a driver is needed for translating the Apple specific usb hid protocol to something Windows understands. A driver is included in the zip file. To install it open the Device Manager and do the following:
  • Right click on the “HID Keybord Device” under the “Keyboards” heading and choose update driver.
  • Choose “Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)” and click Next.
  • Choose “Don't search. I will choose the driver to install” and click Next.
  • Click “Have Disk...”
  • Click “Browse” and browse to the directory where you unpacked the application.
  • You should now see MacBook Pro Keyboard listed as Model. Click Next.
The fn key should now be working while Input Remapper is running.

Warning:
This program and the accompaning driver may well crash your computer and otherwise wreck havoc. Use it at your own peril.
