So you want to upgrade the video card you say. Well this one will not fit in the Mac Mini. It probably won't fit in a barebones motherboard either. It will plug into a Mac G5 tower.
Macs are expandable but they do not sell barebones. They sell plug and play.
Mac towers are expandable. Even an old Mac costs more than most of you want to spend building one. That is not Apple's problem, that is their pride. Even the old Macs have a high resale value. Apple does not set the price on used computers. Enough of the public thinks an old Mac is worth more than a new Dell. Someday you may understand and even benefit from owning a computer with a resale value.

NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500
Bring detailed worlds to life with the NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500. One of the most advanced graphics cards available, it has an integrated stereo 3D port, so scientists can use stereo goggles for stereo-in-a-window visualization applications.(2)

The Quadro FX 4500 includes hardware support for anti-aliased points and lines, accelerated clip planes, and two-sided lighting, making it an ideal choice for the most advanced design and visualization applications. And since it has two dual-link DVI ports, you can connect two 30-inch Apple Cinema HD Displays for the largest workspace with a single graphics card.

Can't wait to see em Intel PowerMacs and to see those benchmarks!!!

Bernie, have you ever tried any of those cards with a PowerMac? Would be nice to find out what kind of frame rate these guys can pull on WoW or Halo 2.

I checked the Apple Store PowerMac configuration page, and they do have NVidia GeForce 7700 and 6600 as options!

I also checked ATI, and they have Radeons for the Mac too (http://shop.ati.com/searchresults.asp?dept_id=31)!

And if the rumor that PowerMacs will have the new Intel chips (Conroe, Merom and Woodcrest), these rigs will be one mean gaming machine!!!

Okay, I am not a gamer but I do like a good view. I feel that a good view requires a CRT. I bought the ATI Radeon card in hopes that the flakiness of my screen was due to the Video card. Looks like Bubba (my 21 inch Apple CRT) may be starting to crap. After warmup and a tear or two no problemo. I have played a little with different resolutions, but it really is a short lived aggravation.

ATI Radeon 9600 Pro:
Chipset Model: ATY,RV350
Type: Display
Bus: AGP
Slot: SLOT-1
VRAM (Total): 64 MB
Vendor: ATI (0x1002)
Device ID: 0x4150
Revision ID: 0x0000
ROM Revision: 113-A13601-126

Displays:
Studio Display 21:
Display Type: CRT
Resolution: 1152 x 870 @ 75 Hz
Depth: 32-bit Color
Core Image: Supported
Main Display: Yes
Mirror: Off
Online: Yes
Quartz Extreme: Supported
Rotation: Supported

That was cut and pasted from the System Profiler. What is really wild is how this topic/post has turned in to more of a misc rant. Judging from the participation on this thread it does not seem that it's lack of continuity is bothering anyone. It is listed under the Apple Lifestyle. But it has strayed away from the Boot Camp rant and taken a life of it's own.
