It is okay to be a Mac purist. - 05-18-2006, 09:30 PM

I know this is a MACTEL forum but it is a strange new world for us all. OSX and WinDoze on the same machine natively. I am a Mac guy here to smooth out the rough edges for the PeeCee person. There is this new hardware made by Apple Computer that runs a wide variety of operating systems. This forum has the potential of being a meeting place for people of many operating systems who share similar hardware and problems.

You might have noticed that I have a purist avatar (no Micro$oft or Intel) from the Mac side. I saw a Linux penguin avatar too! It is okay to to be different. I poke fun at the other side every chance I get but I can take it too. I really hope this does not become a site for flame wars. I do want to have fun with this. If I offend ya, PM me. I will tone it down.

This is the future whether I like it or not. I am here to learn about these New Macs and new Mac people. I am here to help in any way I can. Right now that seems to be comic relief. I lurk here at the Apple Lifestyle thread because I don't do WinDoze.

Good on ya! I've been a long-time fanboy myself and I'm just loving all the great coverage Apple has been getting of late.

I used to be "that odd Apple guy" at work. Now, I'm the kewlest guy in the block

But you know what Bernie, over the years, I've toned down my advocacy a bit. As they say - "you can catch more bees with honey than vinegar."
And its true!

I'm especially heartened when I see previously anti-Mac folks like Stan Beer eat some humble pie and switch over.

But you're right! To have a healthy discussion, you need to have people coming from different perspectives. As moderators, it is our responsibility though to temper the discussion so that it doesn't devolve into a flame war.

Keep on MacTelling!!!!
